“When we decided to celebrate our wedding at The Rosevine Hotel near Portscatho over the long bank holiday weekend in April 2016 we needed to transport all of our guests to the church at St Anthony in Meneage. The journey would usually take at least 90 minutes and we had visions of losing some of our guests, most of whom had travelled from Sussex, down the beautiful Cornish lanes. The answer to our problem was brilliantly provided by Maureen at King Harry Coaches. Maureen and Jonathan were utterly wonderful in the run up to, and on the day of, our wedding. By the time we met them on our wedding day we felt like we had been friends for years.

We loved the idea of our guests travelling across the King Harry ferry on a King Harry Coach but we were concerned that a coach wouldn’t make it down the long lane to the church which sits on a beach overlooking the Helford River. The final bend in the lane to the church is very tight and on a steep hill. David and Maureen were not deterred by this and did a dry run to check that they were confident a coach would get round the bend and down the hill safely before they agreed to take on the job.

Maureen was fantastic to deal with, she’s caring, funny and totally efficient. As the bride the wedding obviously meant a huge amount to me and Maureen put an enormous amount of care and effort into planning the journey with us. We spoke on the phone and emailed often in the run up to the wedding. When I saw the coach pull up outside the hotel with the ribbons and flowers on the front I admit, I had a tear or two.

Jonathan drove the coach on the big day and all our guests have the utmost respect for him as he drove the coach magnificently. The turning circle coming off the King Harry Ferry was, I am told, somewhat tight and Jonathan had to manoeuvre the coach through a 14 point turn, and all without the aid of power assisted steering. The coach was beautiful and, at times, the paintwork was in dire peril as Jonathan drove it down the tiny lanes with the drystone walls, flowers and bushes almost touching both sides. Our guests loved every minute of both journeys. Maureen doesn’t usually join Jonathan on the day but we really wanted her there as she had played such a huge part in bringing our plan to fruition.

We gave our guests a cream tea in the sunshine on the beach at the church and Maureen and Jonathan joined us. They felt like part of the family and we can’t thank them enough for everything they did for us. They were fantastic and we cannot praise them, and David’s beautiful coach, highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble for them. If you need a beautiful coach, wonderful, efficient friendly service and lovely people to deal with, speak to Maureen at King Harry Coaches. David, Maureen and Jonathan really did help to make our day perfect.”

“Thank you for your part in making not only the Bride and Groom’s day so wonderful, but also those of us who attended the wedding. The bride’s grandfather was a coach driver and he would have driven coaches of a similar age, so we are sure that he was there with us.”

“We were so pleased to have booked Hughy as part of our wedding day. He was able to double up as both our wedding car and a means of transporting our guests around and he looked fantastic, with the dark green paintwork matching the Cornish hunting tartan that the groom and best man wore. Jonathan, the driver, was really kind and helpful on the day, making sure that everyone got where they needed to be on time, and he even stopped off to let people take photos of Truro from a view point on his way in to the city as they were running a little ahead of schedule. And from the moment we first enquired about hiring a coach from King Harry Coaches we found dealing with Maureen in the office a pleasure as she was always helpful and efficient.”
